We have had the opportunity to synch some of my favorite bands in the last few episodes of Grey's Anatomy and I just wanted to briefly discuss their backgrounds and releases. Already licensed twice this season with a third track upcoming AND on the Grey's Anatomy Soundtrack, we just can't get enough of Roisin Murphy. I was a big fan of Roisin's old band - the UK electronic duo Moloko and she has also lent guest vocals to an awesome Handsome Boy Modeling School track. Roisin Murphy's album came out in the UK this summer and is available on import - really worth a listen. Another Grey's favorite is Way Out West. Also UK based, the band is a progressive house duo from Bristol made up of producers and vocalist Omi ( former singer for Timo Maas and Peter Gabriel). Check out the beautiful haunting track from last week's episode "Don't Forget Me" on their new Distinctive Records release. Finally there is Tegan & Sara, a Canadian duo that we have returned to again and again on the show. "So Jealous", recorded in Vanouver by the twins is perfectly suited to the drama and comedy on the show. I was just checking out the band's website and learned that The White Stripes has recently covered "Walking With A Ghost". Can't wait to hear it!
