Meredith: [voiceover] It's... a look patients get in their eyes. There is a scent, the smell of death. Some kind of sixth sense. When the great beyond is headed for you, you feel it coming. What's the one thing you've always dreamed of doing before you die?
Izzie: [to Meredith] You have to go to work. You're an intern. Saving lives is not optional.
Cristina: You have a feeling?
Meredith: Yes.
Cristina: Okay, what kind of feeling?
Meredith: Like I might die.
Cristina: Today? Tomorrow? In 50 years? We're all going to die eventually. Now we're late! Let's go!
Meredith: Cristina. C'mon!
Cristina: This is me being supportive.
Meredith: Really?
Cristina: Yeah, fine, I'm totally supportive. Go.
Meredith: OK. The man I love has a wife and then he chooses her over me. And that wife takes my dog—OK, she didn't take the dog, I gave it to her, but I didn't mean to give it to her, I meant to give it to him—but that does not change the fact that she's got my McDreamy. And my McDog. She's got my McLife! And what have I got? -sits up-You know, I can't remember the last time we kissed. 'Cause you never think the last time is the last time, you think there'll be more. You think you have forever, but you don't. Plus my conditioner decided to stop working and I think I have brittle bones. I just-I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are gonna change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed and feel like I might die today.
Cristina: [throws back blanket] Whatever - everybody has problems. Now get your ass out of bed and get to work. NOW! Move! Move! Move! [Opens the door to find Izzie and George] We're good to go.
Derek: You alright?
Meredith: I have a feeling.
Derek: I get those.
Meredith: Yeah?
Derek: Yeah.
Meredith: And?
Derek: If you wait long enough it passes.
Meredith: You promise?
Derek: I promise.
[Meredith walks away, and Addison walks in]
Addison: Hey... What you doing?
Derek: Waiting for it to pass.
Addison: For what to pass?
Derek: Bailey's back? [Hurries to the door but stops when he looks in the window] And her cervix is being examined by my wife, which is a visual I will never get out of my head. Thanks for the warning.
Bailey: What are you people doing out here?
Chief: Are you alright? Can I get you anything?
Bailey: A boy the size of a 10 lb. bowling ball is trying to work it’s way out of my body. Can you get me something for that. Can you get me a new vagina?
Chief: Uh, well.
Bailey: I didn't think so.
George: Eat something.
Izzie: I knew Meredith and Cristina would be out on the floor with the bomb.
George: [uncharacteristically gruff] Yeah.
Izzie: Is it wrong that we're jealous? It's alright to be jealous, right?
George: The fact that we're jealous because they both might die is not a reflection of our character. It's about feeling useless.
Izzie: Ineffectual.
George: We couldn't even get Meredith out of bed this morning without calling Cristina. How embarrassing is that?
Izzie: You know what I think, George? I think Meredith and Cristina? Are doers.
George: They're doers. They do.
Izzie: They do. And we... we watch. We're watchers.
[Izzie spies Alex talking to a hospital aide]
Izzie: We have to become more proactive George. We have to become doers.
George: Fight for what we want.
Izzie: We have to do.
George: Yeah.
[Izzie gets up and leaves]
George: Oh. You mean. We're starting right now.
Izzie: Alex.
Alex: How crazy is this? Dude, it's like the Apocalypse.
Izzie: Alex.
Alex: It's true. Look around you. Half the people who're supposed to be saving lives have fled the building to save themselves. Bailey's husband almost died coming to see his kid getting born. The annoying twins are down on the OR floor with the guy who might literally explode their faces.
Izzie: Alex!
[Cut to the supply closet]
Izzie: Take off your pants.
Alex: Izzie, what are you doing?
Izzie: I'm being a doer. Getting while the getting's good. Now take off your pants.
Alex: You realize when I said the apocalypse before, I meant it metaphorically, not literally.
Izzie: Alex, I haven't had sex in eight months and twelve days. I'm horny, I'm half-naked, and I'm saying yes. Do you want to stand there and talk metaphors, or do you want to literally take off your pants?
Dylan (Bomb Squad Guy): The chief of surgery has authorized me to evacuate everyone on this floor.
Derek: The Chief of Surgery doesn't scare me. Dr. Bailey scares me. I'm not going to be the one to let her husband die, which is what would happen if I put his skull flap on, in this condition. Bomb or no bomb. Now get out of my OR.
George: Uh, Dr. Bailey, you're having a baby.
Bailey: I'm holding it IN. I'll have him tomorrow. Just not now, not like this. NO. [She starts to cry] I'm going home! I'm going home right now! I can't. I can't do this without my husband, I can't do this alone.
