Before I get into my SXSW experiences, I wanted to briefly mention some of the bands that we have synched lately on the show. In last weekıs episode, Koopıs ³Come To Me² opened the show. The Swedish electronic Jazz duo has released only 3 albums in the last 10 years all sublimely listenable. Also synched were new tracks by some of our best loved and oft licensed artists, Gomez, Psapp and Anya Marina. Tonightıs program features unsigned L.A. artists Adam Merrin (some fans might recognize his other project The 88) and Letıs Go Sailing.

SXSW was both amazing and overwhelming this year. I spoke on a panel with some of the smartest music fans in the business (Norm Weiner, Bruce Warren, Lynn Grossman et al.) about breaking artists in 2007. I also attempted to catch many of the bands we have used on the show. Patrick Watson, The Jealous Girlfriend, Au Revoire Simone, Peter Bjorn & John all gave memorable performances. (I had a drink with Bjorn!) Also top 10 ,I keep a list, gigs by The Low Standards, Menomena, The Broken West and The Sunshine Underground. Glad to be back though, Iım way too old for Spring Break.
