You know, it comes to a point where you finally say "OK, this is it. It just can't get any better than this." And then? An episode like "The Becoming" is thrown at you. And that completely shatters what you just said. "The Becoming" was pretty much amazing. I'm pretty sure I say that every week about every episode, but still, it is true. And it is all the more truer this week. I don't think there is anyway around it...Grey's Anatomy is back on track. Back on track creatively, story-wise, and any other way possible. All it does it make me even more excited for the season finale. The two-hour season finale that I am just so completely excited for. But now I'm also even more excited for the DVD release, because I heard in the podcast that this episode was originally like 66 minutes or something. So it is gonna be WAY extended on the DVD. And I cannot wait because this was just such an amazing episode! I honestly don't think Grey's has mixed emotions like this in...years. This episode literally WAS a roller-coaster ride. It was hilarious...then heart-breaking. I was laughing one minute, wanting to cry the next. This is the Grey's that used to be. And it's BACK!
The characters are growing. And it is so amazing to watch. Meredith is finally trying and having to admit her feelings about Derek and her own problems. It is so exciting to know that in less than three Grey's hours time, they are going to be back together for good. Cristina is having to face the demons of ... well ... Burke. It is really interesting to watch how it affects her, especially considering everything she is saying is true. And she is reacting in a way that probably no one could've predicted. George is...The Chief's intern? Hilarious, of course, but how is this going to play out? I have a feeling it has something to do with that whole thing that Lexie finds out in the finale about George's intern status. Izzie. Ah, Izzie. We didn't see much of her tonight. But she is growing too. Learning to keep things private. The one time we all wish she wouldn't. Of course. Alex is an interesting fellow at this point in time. He is certainly growing too, and I have a feeling that these next two episodes will have a lot to do with him. And Derek had sex with Rose. A nasty image, of course, but I am so thankful to the writers for not actually having to see it. It is also comforting to know that MerDer will be reunited soon...
The "date-and-tell" policy storyline was hi-freakin-larious. So smart. It was great to see Adele back, Mark have to face his, well, whore-ness, and Bailey (ah, Bailey!) have to stick up for him.
It is sad to see the clinical trial isn't going so well. It is to be expected, but I know we all caught the champagne bottle exchange between MerDer and immediately linked it to that picture from the finale. Which leads to more hope. The final scene as well was awesome to watch. It is actually really great to see the therapist get aggressive with Meredith. I so cannot wait for more.
But answer me this: Why are people so...so...dumb? Retarded?
Ignorant? Take your pick. I just looked at the boards. I am angered. No, I am pissed.
The boards are LITTERED with threads exclaiming how the gay soldier storyline
was disrespectful...inaccurate...
Speaking of, I'm really hoping Callie/Erica isn't the "Big Kiss." It's too predictable. Interesting, yes. Even a MerDer kiss would be better. A Callie/Erica kiss could happen. It would make sense. It would make for a great and really interesting storyline. But I'm really hoping that it won't be the "Big Kiss."
...Nevertheless. "The Becoming" was amazing. One of my all-time favorites. I can't believe there's only three hours left, but I am way overly excited for them all, and I know I am not the only one. You all at Grey's did an over-amazing job tonight, and I, for one, want the next episode. NOW!
